Viah helps families plan a wedding together. This page says what we keep, who can see it, and what you can do about it.
What we keep
- Your email address and name, so you can sign in and others know who made a change.
- What you and your family enter: events, ceremonies, checklists, guests and households, money, vendors, notes, files and outfits.
- A history of changes (who changed what, and when) so anything can be undone.
We don't sell your information or show you ads.
Who sees what
- Only people invited to your wedding can see it.
- Each person has a role (admin, editor or viewer) and a side (bride's, groom's or both). Someone on one side doesn't see the other side's private items, such as expenses only that side pays for, or its shagun ledger.
- An expense split between both sides is visible to both, with the full amount.
- Vendors you send a confirmation link to see only that booking's times, not the rest of your wedding.
- Admins can change people's roles and sides, and remove people.
Ask Viah (the assistant)
If your wedding uses Ask Viah, your question and the parts of your wedding it looks up to answer are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to produce the answer. It only looks up what you can see. Nothing changes until you confirm, except small checklist and note edits, which you can undo. Admins can turn Ask Viah off in Use what you need.
Where it's stored
Your data is stored with our hosting providers (Supabase for the database and files, Vercel for the app). Your chat history with Ask Viah stays in your own browser.
Your choices
- Download everything you can see from Your data & account.
- Admins can delete the wedding. It can be restored for 30 days, then it's gone for good, files included.
- You can delete your account at any time from Your data & account.
- Deleted items go to the Trash and are removed for good after 30 days.
